Lucy has been around horses her whole life, showing, cross country and hunting from a very young age. Racing has always been a strong interest too with school holidays spent riding out for trainers before going to race meetings.
After leaving school, Queen Margaret's, Escrick Park, Lucy worked in the morning as a work rider and in the afternoons/evening cooking in the local pub. This lasted a year before joining the film industry in 2000. The next eleven years took her all over the world working on feature films such as The Queen; Underworld; Alien V's Predator; Mao’s Last Dancer and WWZ.
In 2006 Lucy joined a group of girls put together by her at the time flatmate, Emma Sayle - The Sisterhood. The main aim was to raise money for charities through sporting events. In 2007 The Sisterhood crossed the English Chanel in 3hrs 42mins, setting the world record for an all female crew to dragon boat across the channel. The previous time was set by an all male crew at 7hrs 45!!
Back with the horse's in 2011 Lucy bought her first point to pointer, Desert Tommy, and with a win on her second outing she was totally hooked.
Over the next season the horses went from one school master to five horses; a number of outside rides, and over 50% strike rate in placings and wins.
After taking out her Catagory A licence to ride under rules she won on her first and only start over hurdles on Cara Court at 100/1!
